Imposters
From the Amsterdam official website: "Amsterdam is a wonderful city. However, just like any other major city, Amsterdam has problems with crime. Fake police officers, for instance.These fake policemen are usually men of Eastern European origin who pretend to be police officers. This is how they operate".

How to spot them:
- Fake police officers always operate in civilian clothing. Real police officers working in civilian clothing will only very rarely carry out this type of check.
- Some fake police officers use shiny police badges as proof of identity. The real police in the Netherlands never use badges.

And above all ... real police officers in The Netherlands are extremely bad mannered. If you are treated politely, then they are definitely not real policemen!
