En 2005 he tenido acceso a mucha mas musica de la que jamas hubiera podido imaginar. A itunes le siguieron otras tiendas especializadas como beatport o las propias companias lanzaron sus propios websites, como kompakt. Ahora puedo conseguir canciones antes solo editadas en vinilo o las ultimas novedades de pequenos sellos independientes como moon harbour o cadenza. Ahora tengo mas musica de la que puedo oir. Recuerdo cuando estaba estudiando y podia comprar uno o a lo sumo dos discos al mes. Recuerdo que pasaba horas pensando cuidadosamente que disco compraria. La eleccion era limitada, y seguro que me perdi muy buenos discos, pero cuando compraba un disco lo oia una y mil veces hasta sacarle todo el partido hasta la ultima de sus notas. Ahora tengo tanta musica que apenas reconozco que cancion es la que estoy oyendo, y no es que no sepa el nombre de la cancion, es que no se el nombre siquiera del artista. Cientos de personas hacen canciones en sus ordenadores, decenas de pequenos sellos las editan, decenas de blogs, revistas online y foros de discusion las comentan al minuto, siempre en busca de lo ultimo. Durante meses, he seguido este divertido juego: chequear los blogs y revistas, etc. los charts de los DJs en busca de canciones que luego me descargaba de las tiendas. Al principio intentaba grabarlas todas en cds para oirlas tambien en el coche, pero ahora he desistido: tengo tantas que me conformo con hacerme cds solo con las que mejor me suenan al oirlas rapidamente en el ordenador, o las que he valorado mas altas al oirlas en el iPod. Pero no puedo digerir mas de tres o cuatro recopilaciones al mes, esto es unas cuarenta canciones al mes. Tengo mas de 3.000 cnaciones contando solo la recientes de musica electronica en mi ipod. Necesitaria 75 meses para digerirlas todas. Y eso si no comprara ni una sola cancion en 75 meses.
PD: He rescatado mi viejo plato de la casa de mis padres que deje atras hace anos. Me he traido una bolsa de discos de vinilo, miro la aguja girar … y al minuto lo quito y pongo otro! El plato no tiene skip button. Sign of the times.

Groove has published their Top 50 singles and albums/comps for September. The Luciano remix of Argy's Love Dose (Poker Flat) is at the top. A good year for the German Label, which is also releasing yet another Trentemoller single this week: "Sunstroke / Minimal Fox".
